From Family Rides to Onewheel Rentals

Buying a GT and Pint X gave Joshua, Caleb, and me a new outdoor hobby, then grew into a small rental offering for other riders.

On July 23, 2023, Joshua, Caleb, and I added a Onewheel GT and a Pint X to our family adventures. The boards combined our interest in technology with a reason to spend more time outdoors, learn something unfamiliar together, and explore at a different pace.

What began as a new hobby quickly became shared family time. We could compare what we were learning, help one another become more comfortable, and enjoy the simple experience of getting outside together. This article keeps that family memory while avoiding photographs of Joshua or Caleb and details about our home or regular riding locations.

Learning two different boards

The original GT and Pint X offered different sizes and riding experiences, which gave us more than one way to learn. Instead of treating specifications as permanent promises, the important part of the milestone was having equipment that could suit different riders and help us build confidence over time.

Sharing the experience through rentals

The family hobby eventually grew into a small rental offering. I inspect and prepare the equipment, explain the controls and basic operation, and help new renters begin with clearer expectations. The exact inventory has changed since the original GT and Pint X purchase, so the live rental profile is the current source for available boards and accessories.

Starting with safety

Onewheel riding involves real fall and collision risks. Riders should review the manufacturer's current safety guidance, wear an appropriate helmet and protective gear, inspect the board before riding, understand its warnings and controls, and follow the laws and conditions where they ride.

For me, this chapter is about more than the boards or the rental listing. It records a hobby I learned alongside Joshua and Caleb and the decision to make that experience available to other riders in a more practical way.
