In 2002, I worked as a Network Consultant with Light of Power Consulting. I helped manage a technical team responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting mixed-platform business infrastructure.
The work crossed local and wireless networks, user and remote systems, storage, backups, directory services, printing, and server applications. The important career milestone was learning to coordinate a broad support surface without treating each service as an isolated problem.
This chapter preserves the short historical record while replacing the source article's long list of obsolete service names with a clearer description of the responsibility.
