Transmitting Sukeban Wrestling Live

I served as Transmission Engineer for Sukeban at the Trinity Hotel, supporting the dependable live delivery of its Los Angeles wrestling show.

In May 2024, I served as Transmission Engineer for Sukeban's Japanese wrestling show at the Trinity Hotel in Los Angeles. The ballroom had been transformed into a distinctive live-event environment, with the ring, lighting, cameras, and production areas all working toward the same program.

Supporting the live delivery

My responsibility was the transmission side of the broadcast: helping prepare the live-delivery path, confirming the required handoffs, and monitoring the program as it moved from the production to its online audience.

Transmission engineering is most effective when it stays connected to the rest of the show. I coordinated with the production team while keeping my scope focused on the live signal and its dependable delivery.

Keeping the focus on the event

The technical work existed to support Sukeban's performers and the experience created inside the room. The live program was delivered successfully, allowing viewers outside the Trinity Hotel to follow the energy and presentation of the show.

For me, the event was a strong example of teamwork across a live broadcast. Each department had a defined responsibility, and the transmission role connected the finished program with the audience watching beyond the venue.
